"My parents moved to Silver Creek Garland in November, 2016. They both love living here and the care they receive is unsurpassed. We had a bad experience at another facility and Silver Creek could not be more different. I never have to worry if they are happy or safe. We love the employees like family and they treat us like family also. Any concerns I have ever had, which have been minor, have been well received and promptly addressed. This facility is not a revolving door for employees. Sandra has been the executive director the entire time. I have never met a more caring individual who is so great at choosing and managing people. Natalie, the marketing director, has been with the company since inception. She made our move here seamless and easy. Rhonda has been the wellness director since my parents moved in. She visits with each resident daily to access how they are doing. She is careful to monitor their medications and physical needs. Due to Rhonda's diligence and attention to detail, we took care of problems before they became emergent. Bo runs the kitchen and he also has been there the entire time. The common denominator is this: When employees are appreciated and respected, they seldom leave. When employees are valued, they take pride in their work and it shows at Silver Creek. My parents are extremely important to me, and I'm not quick to trust. I have come at every possible hour and have never been disappointed. When I am out of town, I never have to worry. One of the greatest things about Silver Creek, is that it is a private company owned by two individuals. They own 7 facilities and aren't interested in becoming a giant entity. They have done a great job of maintaining high standards of care and a fair price. The place my parents moved from grew from 70 properties to over 300 in 2 years time. The residents were faceless numbers and all that mattered was their bottom line. I'm so grateful to Silver Creek Garland for their exemplary service and care of my parents. "After 15 years of caring for my Mom in my home, our situation changed where I could no longer care for her myself. It was gut wrenching to realize that I would have to rely on a stranger to care for my Mom. I just kept thinking of the “ nursing homes I had visited in the past...how could I have my Mom in such a place, and how on earth would we be able to afford it, with her social security as her only income. I went online and began my search. Nothing that I saw online looked like it would be a good fit for us. I then decided to look at Silver Creek, it was just down the street and I really liked that it was not a huge place, it also looked beautiful on the outside. I figured that we would never be able to afford a place like this! My husband and I made an appointment to check them out. The first thing I noticed was it actually smelled good! Definitely not like other places. We were met by Natalie and she took us on a tour of the facility. I LOVED IT! The care staff were very nice. Each resident has a pendant that they wear around their neck that had a button to push should they need anything. Okay that’s good, I thought to myself, then Natalie explains that the care staff had to physically reset each Pendant within a 15 minute time frame or it notifies the director! So no body talking on a speaker or the like? Really? The rooms were great! Not at all like a nursing home. The dining room was beautiful, great menu and if don’t want what is being served you may choose from an anytime menu, that has choices from burgers, salads, baked potato etc... As we finished our tour, Natalie took us in the office to go over our wants and needs. In my head I was thinking, this place is perfect! But we surely would not be able to afford such a place. We sat down with Natalie to evaluate my Mom’s needs. After discussing our situation, we were shown our options. I then realized, this is affordable, WE COULD DO THIS! Then Natalie asked me if my Mom or Dad had been a veteran? My Dad had been.. She then shared with me that my Mom should qualify for financial help from the VA. She then gave me the name of who I needed to contact at the VA. That was 2 years ago this February. I have been so happy with the care my Mom has received there at Silver Creek. It feels like family there, from the director Sandra, to Rhonda the RN, to Brandi the activities director, who BTW is an amazingly creative person, to Beau the chef, and to Dina in housekeeping, everyone is amazing! "Mom loves living here. She feels alive and loved. At least once a week she lets me know how nice everyone is and she has been a resident since 2016. Our family could not have found a better place for Mom. Her many friends are the aides that are employed there. They drop in to see her even if they are not assigned to her room.
